Through an arduous process, Columbus, Ohio artist Laura Alexander creates ethereal works of paper that are more than they appear. Layer after layer, cut after cut, her work is made to manipulate light and shadow. Alexander earned a bachelor of fine arts in 2000 from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a master of fine arts from the University of Washington in 2004. Alexander recently completed an artist residency in Dresden, Germany and was a visiting artist at Bowling Green State University in 2012. Her work has been included exhibitions throughout the United States.
