Jason E. Carter’s current series of paintings are mediations on how the artificial light emanating from the glowing rectangles of the electronic devices that surround us manipulates and defines the space we occupy. He received a master of fine arts in painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2011. In 2013, Carter was awarded the Kresge Artist Fellowship by Kresge Arts in Detroit, a program of The Kresge Foundation. Residing in Berkley, Michigan at the time he was accepted in this year’s TAA exhibition, Carter has recently relocated to Los Angeles, California.
