The life cycles of formerly vibrant cities now dulled by economic downturns are the focus of much of Corrie Slawson’s work. Experiences working in Dresden, Germany, Tijuana, Mexico, and her native Cleveland, Ohio are distilled by her into colorful, graphic landscapes. The artist earned a bachelor of fine arts in painting from the Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1997, and a master of fine arts in painting from Kent State University in 2006. One of her most recent works was a public commission of historical markers for the LAND Studio and Cleveland Warehouse District.
